Dr. Beth Stowell is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She attended veterinary school with the help of an educational scholarship. Dr. Stowell had a publication in the Journal of Veterinary and Comparative Oncology, which looked at novel chemotherapy treatments for canine oral cancer. She is also silver certified in business management, and won an outstanding oncology student award. Her clinical interests include pain management, cancer care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.
When she is not saving lives, Dr. Stowell can be seen geeking out to the greatest in science fiction like Marvel movies, Star Wars, Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Game of Thrones. Every October she travels with her husband to visit Haunted Houses. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband Andres (Human), and pets Annie the Annihilator (Labrador Pit Weimaraner Husky Heeler Sharpei), Ulysses S. Puppo (Golden Retreiver), Gabbana (Pomeranian Chihuahua), Tsai (Egyptian Mau), and Gumbo (Black Naughty Kitty).
Andres Stowell is a Mathematician, Programmer, Motorcyclist and Animal Lover. As a long time proponent of small businesses and the communities created around them. Andres believes in serving the animals of Albuquerque, and that all pets are good pets. Listen to what they are trying to say, and they can lead you right to their problems with genuine trust. We will be working to earn that trust.
When not managing the clinic, Andres is a gamer and loves to read. His most engrossing passion, however, is his wife. Wine and Paint nights, Flix nights out, Haunted Houses around the nation, or just hanging around at home with dog and cat friends.
Dr. Hayley Jackson Dr. Hayley Jackson, a New Mexico Native, graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. When she is not in the clinic, Dr. Jackson enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband, gardening, and playing with their three cats.
Saija Esquibel grew up in the small town of Las Vegas, NM. Raised on a ranch, Saija was always surrounded by animals. Here is where her interest in caring for animals was established. As Saija grew, she realized there was not much help for it, but to pursue her dreams in veterinary medicine. She packed up and moved to Albuquerque and enrolled at PIMA Medical Institute. Graduating PIMA, Saija quickly found herself an indispensible in her role as a Veterinarian Assistant at Kokopelli Animal Clinic.
As Saija puts it, “Now I’m working at an amazing clinic with such a great staff and an exquisite doctor!” We couldn’t be happier she found us!
Miranda Bell is a veterinary technician she was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM she attended school at Brown Mackie and received an associates degree in Veterinary Technology. Miranda has always loved animals she knew when she was a child she always wanted to work with animals. Miranda is a full time mom of a 6 year old daughter named RayeLynn and a newborn son named Kahwhi, she also has 2 fur babies Boba and Chai.
Kyara Medina-Villalobos was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. Kyara attended PIMA Medical Institute, graduating in 2017 as a Veterinary Assistant. Kyara has always had a strong love for and connection to animals, especially dogs, ever since she was a little girl. Currently, she has a very spoiled bunny at home named Winnie! Kyara is always open to taking home another Furry friend, even if she knows it will be cause for some long talks with the family. Kyara says, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to be working at such an amazing clinic with Dr. Stowell and all the other staff!”
Monique Sedillo is an Albuquerque native who grew up on a farm. She has always wanted to help animals. In 2004, she attended Pima Medical Institute and has been in the field since then. Monique’s call to action is “Curing cancer and saving lives!” When she isn’t at work wrestling alligators, she is attending CNM to further her education or herding her son, Hank from kindergarten to karate to soccer practice. She shares a home with her 2 cats (Kabuki and Euphrates) and 2 rabbits (Godzilla and Hello Kitty). She enjoys gardening, coffee and learning about extraterrestrial and spiritual experiences.
Justin Lahl grew up in California and New York before joining the Air Force. After his service he graduated from College of Charleston where he earned a BS in biology with minors in chemistry and biomedical physics. He comes to our clinic after working for several years in an emergency and specialty hospital in Charleston, SC. His love of medicine and compassion for animals drives Justin to provide the best care he can for our patients. Currently applying to schools, Justin hopes to one day be a veterinarian. At home, Justin is the father of three cats: Heather, Chance, and Amethyst. Justin and his partner are avid readers, gamers, and love camping.
Jade Sackett Jade is one of our high school students here at the clinic. She helps us keep organized and clean so that we can perform at our bests. She is currently a senior at Cibola high school and graduated from the CEC vet med program. She plans on attending UNM for her biology degree and she does what ever she can to help our furry friends, as She also has two dogs of her own.
Briana Robles Briana is one of our Receptionists. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, she is currently going to school for ultrasound at CNM. Briana is lover of her two fur babies, Rocky who is a Shih Tzu/ Maltese and Rj who is a boxer. Briana enjoys being with friends and family and enjoys photography whenever she has the chance.
